Custom-built gaming PC made in Alexandria, MN

PCs built for what you actually do. Gaming rigs, video editing workstations, family computers, business desktops. Spec-matched to your needs and budget — not what a big-box store has on sale this week. Built in Alexandria, MN since 1989.

Custom-Built PCs in Alexandria, MN

For thirty-plus years weve built custom desktops for the central Minnesota community — Alexandria, Nelson, Garfield, Carlos, Hudson, Holmes City, Osakis, Sauk Centre, Glenwood, and across Douglas County. Gamers, video editors, small businesses, families that just want a reliable machine that wont die in two years. We talk through what you need, spec the build, and you get exactly the right computer at a fair price.

Why Custom?

An off-the-shelf computer is built to a price point, not your needs. The manufacturer has cost targets and component vendors and pre-installed bloatware partnerships. They dont know what you do with the computer.

A custom build inverts that. We start with what you actually do — the games you play, the software you use, the files you work with — and pick components that match. The result: better performance for your real work, parts you can upgrade later instead of having to replace the whole machine, and no bloatware.

What We Build

Gaming PCs

From budget 1080p builds that hit 60+ FPS in modern games for under $1000, to 4K high-refresh rigs with the latest GPUs. We size the build to the games you actually play. No need to spend $3000 if your favorite games run great on a $1200 build.

  • Budget gaming: Solid 1080p performance, esports-ready, room to grow
  • Mid-range: 1440p high settings, modern AAA games at 100+ FPS
  • High-end: 4K 120Hz+, ray tracing, VR-ready, future-proofed

Workstations

Video editing (Premiere, DaVinci Resolve), 3D rendering (Blender, Maya), CAD, photography workflows (Lightroom catalogs, large RAW batches), software development with multiple VMs. We size CPU, RAM, GPU, and storage for your actual workload — not generic specs.

Family & Home Office

Reliable, fast, quiet, simple. Built to last 6–8 years, not 3. No flashing RGB unless you want it. Quality power supply and cooling so it doesn’t die during a thunderstorm or in summer heat. Often less expensive than a comparable name-brand desktop and built better.

Small Business Desktops

Fleet-friendly: same hardware across all your machines makes deployment, troubleshooting, and replacement easy. Quality components reduce IT downtime. Built with parts that are still available 5 years from now if you need to replace something.

Our Build Process

  1. Conversation. Stop in or call us. Tell us what you do with the computer and your budget. We ask the questions that matter.
  2. Spec. We put together a complete parts list, walk you through every component and why we picked it, and quote a final price including build labor and OS install.
  3. Approval. No surprises — final price is what you pay. You can adjust anything if you want different components.
  4. Build. Ordered, assembled, OS installed, drivers updated, all your software (if applicable) installed.
  5. Optimize & Test. BIOS tuning, thermal balancing, fan curves dialed in for quiet operation, and a full stress test (CPU, GPU, memory, sustained load) before it leaves the shop. We make sure the machine runs cool, quiet, and at full performance.
  6. Pickup. Computer ready to go. We walk you through it, answer questions, and back the build with a 1-year hardware warranty on every new PC we build, plus the manufacturer warranties on individual components.

Common Questions

How much does a custom PC cost?

Wide range. A solid family computer or budget gaming PC can be done in the $700–1000 range. Mid-range builds for serious gaming or content creation typically $1500–2500. High-end workstations and 4K gaming machines $3000+. We always lay out the parts list so you see exactly where the money goes.

Why not just buy a Dell, HP, or pre-built gaming PC?

You can. For some uses thats the right call. But pre-built systems often cut corners on power supply, cooling, motherboard, and case quality — components you don’t notice in benchmarks but matter for longevity. You also can’t pick the parts. With a custom build you know whats inside, you have a 1-year local hardware warranty from us plus manufacturer warranties on every component individually, and you can upgrade anything down the road. Pre-built brand-name PCs do not come with local warranty support — if something fails you ship it to the manufacturer, not bring it three blocks down to us.

Can I bring my own parts?

Yes. We can build with parts you provide, or use a mix. We do recommend you discuss the parts list with us first so we catch compatibility issues (PSU wattage, RAM voltage, motherboard sockets) before youve already bought everything.

How long does a custom build take?

Usually 3–7 days from approval, depending on parts availability. Our Alexandria showroom carries a deep stock of cases, PSUs, motherboards, GPUs, RAM, storage, coolers, and peripherals — quite often we have everything we need to build your PC the same week without waiting on shipping. Stop in to see what is on the shelf, or describe what you want and we will check stock.

Do you also support the PC after building it?

Yes. One-year hardware warranty on every new PC we build — if a component fails in normal use within the first year, we replace it. After that, individual component warranties from the manufacturers (typically 2–3 years on most parts, longer on PSUs and cases) still apply. And were here for the life of the computer — bring it back for upgrades, repairs, or just questions.
